Action Plan

I have decided to change my action plan just a little and will start the textual anaylsis and research of adverts a little bit later, this is so I can focus purely on my digipack for a little longer. However I will keep to some of the timing of the action plan and hope to complete and finish my music video, digipack and advert poster around the 13th of march.

Audience Research

I will hand out another questionnaire and make a poll on my blog to find out general information about what I should have and include on my digipack and advert poster.

Update of Music Video

Recently I have filmed some more footage of the performer singing against a white background as well as more footage of my characters. I added the footage into the editing software and have put the different footage into order of how I would like my story to run. When editing, my idea of the story has changed a little bit compared to my storyboard that I had planned out. Also throughout my video there are many random clips for example shuffling feet and different types of lighting. This shows time is passing and has a motif to it and I believe that the different types of lit objects like the lamp and the flame are aesthetically pleasing objects that did fit into the video due to the direct link it has to the lyrics.

Editing music

My song is 3.30 minutes and after listening to it many times and analysing the lyrics and the beat, I felt that the song is a little repetitive in which i felt that the audience could get a little bored listening to it. To overcome this problem I took out a verse from the song using the software Final cut pro. It took me a while to make sure that the song flowed and after testing out a number of many different styles of editing I eventually completed the editing of the song. I then had to add this to the visuals on my music video. Below is a small clip showing how I did this.

Permission

I have not received a reply from Angels record label, so I decided to use a form of social networking in order to contact the star himself. I follow Angel on twitter where I can see his daily tweets of what he is doing and his album updates and below is a screenshot of the tweet I sent to him.

Evidence of editing

Here is Imovie where I can edit my clips using tools like crop, ken burns, rotate etc. Also in the right hand corner it shows the different types of texts that I can put in my work. There are small icons towards the right of the page where I can choose different types of transitions, texts, how to add music (purple part shows my song playing along with the action) different files I can import and finally maps backgrounds and animatics.
