Permission

I have not received a reply from Angels record label, so I decided to use a form of social networking in order to contact the star himself. I follow Angel on twitter where I can see his daily tweets of what he is doing and his album updates and below is a screenshot of the tweet I sent to him.

Evidence of editing

Here is Imovie where I can edit my clips using tools like crop, ken burns, rotate etc. Also in the right hand corner it shows the different types of texts that I can put in my work. There are small icons towards the right of the page where I can choose different types of transitions, texts, how to add music (purple part shows my song playing along with the action) different files I can import and finally maps backgrounds and animatics.

Experimentation of effects with practice shots

I wanted to practice shots in my garage where the boxing scenes take place. I wanted to see how the lighting looked on camera and also if I changed the effects to black and white how it would be portrayed in the music video.
Files imported into iMovie
Double tap on clip of choice
Click on effect of choice (black and white)
Clip is now black and white

Evidence of filming

To film I used both the schools video camera as well as my own ipad. I found that the quality on my ipad was much better at times. In different situations with different types of lightings as well as the setting, the video camera performed much better with a good quality. I filmed in a range of different locations and countries including England, Dubia, Istanbul, Tokyo, Hong Kong and New york. I thought that a range of different locations would make my video interesting as well as showing some momumental buildings like New Yorks, Central Station. I did not have a plan of what to film when I was on holiday but everyday I would record some footage of different landmarks and different scenarios for example I took full advantage of being on the famous Japanese bullet train. In England I filmed mainly around Essex at places such as Epping Forest, my house and a local subway. When travelling to Brighton I captured some footage of the big wheel on Brighton's sea front as well as some oncoming traffic.

Above are images showing evidence of filming and my different filming techniques. In some of the pictures you can see me sitting in a boot of a car so I could record tracking back smoothly, as well as standing outside of a sunroof in the car to record smoothly whilst going along. In the last picture I am actually on the big wheel in Brighton trying to get footage of the city from a high angle view.

Mise en Scene

Lighting

Throughout my video I will mainly be shooting in the day so my footage will have natural lighting however in a couple of scenes which will be recorded indoors and also in the night I will need the assistance of some extra lighting. I will try and make the lighting as natural as possible and try to prevent such effects like shadows.

Costume

My actors will be shot in casual everyday clothing when together except one scene when they will be wearing smart casual clothing. The boxing and running scenes will involve some workout clothes like shorts and vests with maybe boxing gloves or ropes wrapped around his hands so that it looks quite professional.

Makeup
Joe (male actor) will not have any makeup on however Issie (girl actor) will have natural makeup for most of the scenes but for a couple of shots I may make her up with  glamourous makeup.

Camera shots and angles

I will try to get a range of shots so that my music video is varied with close up to extreme long shots as well as still shots, to moving shots and hopefully many different angles from high angle to low angles. My actors will most of the time be in the center of the shots as they are the main focus throughout the video. I will also try to film eye line shots and also shot reverse shot to show a conversation between two people.

The Lyrics

                                                                      "Wonderful"

Everywhere we go we feel like we're strangers
On the other hand it makes us feel major
If they never knew then maybe they'll name ya
Don't let 'em change ya

When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful
When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful

It's so wonderful

Exhale, breathe in
Let yourself go for the evening
Break out, screaming
You can lose your voice if you mean it
Can't control the feelin'
And I can't let go, I need it

Everywhere we go we feel like we're strangers
On the other hand it makes us feel major
If they never knew then maybe they'll name ya
Don't let 'em change ya

When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful

If you're looking for the stars keep looking at me hard
If you're looking for the stars keep looking at me hard

When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful
When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful

Inhale, steamin'
We can blow it up for the weekend
Shallow world meet him
Come and swim with us in the deep end
Can't control the feelin'
And I can't let go I need it

Everywhere we go we feel like we're strangers
On the other hand it makes us feel major
If they never knew then maybe they'll name ya
Don't let 'em change ya

When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful

If you're looking for the stars keep looking at me hard
If you're looking for the stars keep looking at me hard

When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful
When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful
When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful
When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful
When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful
When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful

Everywhere we go we feel like we're strangers
On the other hand it makes us feel major
If they never knew then maybe they'll name ya
Don't let 'em change ya

When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful
When you finally find what's beautiful
It's so wonderful

The crew and Cast Notes

The actors I will be using will be my brother Joe Carter and one of my friends Izzie Curtis. I needed only two characters because my music video was based around a relationship and two people in love. The reasoning behind why I choose these two to participate in my music video is because I needed a girl and boy who would be willing to act like a couple and both of my cast members volunteered to play a part. They were also available when I needed to film. I decided later on to also include an extra member to sing on the video to portray the artist. My friend Oliver Stone agreed and was willing to participate as the artist and to sing throughout the video.  I wanted a male character to sing due to the artist being a male figure and again Ollie was available to shoot.

 Joe Carter Issie CurtisOllie Stone

Performance based- Ollie being the artist singing throughout the video.
Narrative based- Joe and Izzie's on screen relationship through the bad and good times as well as Joe's party life and boxing scenes.
Cast notes

I have planned to give my cast only some small notes on what the song is about and roughly what my storyline will be. I decided instead of overloading my cast with notes, to give a brief speech about what I expected them to do for the video footage and how I expected their actions to come over on camera. Before shooting each scene I will place them and do a run through of what I require from them.  I am going to print the lyrics for my artist to look at and learn. I feel this will help Ollie look more professional when filming and lip syncing to the music and will hopefully make it quicker to record and capture good shots.
